The Woodlands Islamic Society treated some of the area’s pioneering families to a special lunch at Westgate Mall’s Cafe Classique recently. The aim of the event was to express appreciation to some of the families of Woodlands who moved into the area in the early days of Mitchell’s Plain and to raise funds for youth programmes at the mosque.
The Mitchell’s Pain School of Skills in Rocklands were treated to an unexpected visit to the school by the Temple Boys, who will also be making an appearance at this weekend’s Mitchell’s Plain Festival. The group’s visit to the school was made possible by We R Proudly, a non-profit company that was also instrumental in helping the school secure 100 tablets from cellphone operator MTN earlier this year.
If the Mitchell’s Plain School of Skills’ pupils’ reaction is anything to go by during a recent visit to the school by the Temple Boys, then fans are in for a treat at this weekend’s Mitchell’s Plain Festival.
