Westridge brothers Mughammad and Mughammad Yaqeen Arnold have been proving their pedal power at various cycling events.
Both took part in last month’s Western Cape Road championships in Veldrift.
Older brother Mughammad, 13, took second place in the boys’ under-15 time trial race and Mughammad Yaqeen, 9, finished first in the boys’ under-11 division as well as first in the road race, to be crowned Western Cape champion in both events.
The two were at it again a fortnight ago, when they took part in the Jeanne Nel track race held in Paarl with Mughammad taking first and second place in his races.
On Sunday March 3, the two young riders took part in Western Province Cycling’s Criterium race, at Century City, with Mughammad finishing fourth and Mughammad Yaqeen first.
This coming Friday, the boys will take part in the Maximum Velocity track at Bellville Velodrome, Sunday’s Cape Town Cycle Tour and the SA track championships later this month.
