High schools athletics season gets under way

The False Bay and Southern Zonal championships took place at Vygieskraal, at the, weekend. Winners from the various high schools’ sectional meets went head to head for a spot at the upcoming Western Province championships.

It’s that time of the year when schools across the city compete in their annual athletics competitions. With limited venues available, Vygieskraal in Athlone and Green Point Stadium played host to last week’s sectional meets and the zonal championships at the weekend. Pictured is some of the action.
