Help us promote mental wellness

Letter to the Editor|Published 7 months ago

Warren Caesar, Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital CEO

Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital will be hosting its inaugural fun run / walk to promote mental wellness and combat stigma, at the hospital estate, on Saturday October 12.

This event marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to promoting holistic well-being and raising awareness about mental health within our community.

October is Mental Health Month, a time dedicated to emphasising the importance of mental wellness and the journey to recovery.

The fun run / walk provides a unique opportunity for community members, businesses, and families to come together in support of mental health.

By participating, you’ll not only be engaging in a fun and healthy activity but also helping to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and our event aims to highlight this by encouraging participants to prioritise their overall well-being.

The event will feature two routes: a quick and flat 8km fun run/walk for more seasoned runners/walkers and a leisurely 5km fun walk for those who prefer a more relaxed pace.

We are calling on local communities and businesses to join us in this important initiative.

Local businesses are invited to participate by setting up stalls to sell non-perishable items, providing both a service to the community and an opportunity to show their support for mental health awareness.

We are also seeking sponsors for this exciting event.

Partnering with us will not only align your brand with a cause that touches the lives of many but also demonstrate your commitment to the well-being of our community.

Let’s come together to promote mental wellness, debunk stigmas, and create a supportive environment for everyone on their journey to better mental health.

Join us for a day of fun, awareness, and community spirit.
