Dorothy Masters, Tafelsig
I would like to give thanks and praise to the MEC-Chronic Club Mitchell's Plain. The sisters and doctors are always very helpful and patient.
We never give praise when due, but don't know what these health workers are going through daily.
They dedicate a lot of time and effort to make sure that their patients' needs and health come first.
I would like to give a special thank you to Sister Dorothy Marsala and appreciate her willingness to help. God Bless you all.
Sister Dorothy Marsala is one of seven clinical nurse practitioners who together with other personnel are working in the newly integrated club since December 2022.
Here service users are seen comprehensively for their chronic conditions.
Stable clients are seen every six months for a clinical visit, but the idea is to only see them once a year, providing their clinical condition is well controlled or assisted self-management.
These clients' medication is prepacked at Medipost, and they get a two-months' supply at one of our 16 medication collection points within the Mitchell's Plain area.
The staff are working diligently every day to ensure that clients are receiving quality care.
All these changes are in the best interest of clients, in line with the department’s vision of "access to person-centred quality care".
The facility is always looking at improvements to enhance the client experience of care.
Clients are therefore requested to work closely with the staff at the facility and to be patient when changes are introduced.
We would like to acknowledge the positive feedback and express our sincere gratitude to Ms Masters for taking the time to acknowledge Sister Marsala.
