Yolanda Thys, Lentegeur

September is a sad month us as mothers and widows, who lost our loved ones at sea, from Viking Fishing, seven years ago.

They are gone but not forgotten.

I’m still waiting for my husband Bernard to come home.

When it is time for fishermen to leave the shore my prayers go with them.

We have not received our workers’ compensation.

My heart goes out to the people, especially those from Wellington.

Bernard was one of 12 crewmen, who drowned in the “Lincoln tragedy” on September 27.

We will always remember and lastly never forget them or this month from the boatswain’s wife Mrs Thys.
