Despite the current negative impressions people have of Mitchell’s Plain, change is possible.
When l stepped out of my house (recently) at about 8.30am, my neighbour Cecilia Lottering, 62, was already very busy cleaning the gutters as though she was employed by the municipality.
She had a broom, a scoop and buckets of water from her house.
It was a pleasure to see how clean our road was.
If we all could follow this example, appreciate our living place, stop illegal dumping and start getting our kids and their friends to beautify our areas then l believe that others will follow.
