Three men were killed in a drive-by shooting in Westridge.

Brigadier Brian Muller confirmed the shooting on Wednesday, September 17, at 8.20pm on the corner of Bonfoi Road and Bellingham Crescent in Westridge.

The victims, aged between 23 and 30, were shot multiple times. Brigadier Muller said the incident is alleged to be gang-related, and a firearm was recovered underneath one of the victims at the scene.

Two of the men were members of the Firm Boys gang, while the third is believed to have been an “innocent bystander,” Brigadier Muller said.

According to Brigadier Muller, a white unknown vehicle drove past the men and opened fire.

A Portland resident told Plainsman she could hear multiple gunshots in Westridge from her home.

Westridge Bishop, Mark Bloemstein said he was at a prayer meeting nearby when the shooting occurred.

“The murders happened just a stone’s throw from my congregation. We heard multiple gunshots and the screams of a woman, likely related to the victims. Those cries were a clear indication that lives had been lost. Later, it was confirmed that three people had been killed,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing.
