An off-duty traffic officer was found alive after his personal vehicle was discovered abandoned with blood stains on Baden Powell Drive, Mitchell’s Plain, on Friday, September 19.
Mitchell’s Plain police station commander Brigadier Brian Muller said the officer later returned to his car, where his cellphone and keys were found.
The search involved a police helicopter, the SAPS K9 Unit, and other search and rescue teams.
Residents near the incident told Plainsman they saw a helicopter hovering over a school this morning.
