Man killed in gang-related Montrose Park shooting

A 36-year-old man was shot and killed in Montrose Park while collecting scrap on the pavement of Samantha Street.

According to police, he was approached from behind and shot once in the head on Wednesday, September 3, at 11.10am.

Lentegeur police station commander Colonel Umavathie Rameshwarnath said the shooting was gang-related, and the victim was known to be affiliated with a gang.

Colonel Rameshwarnath said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
