On Youth Day, Monday, June 16, Eastridge neighbourhood watch launched a hygiene drive, distributing toiletries to young boys and girls in the community.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of respecting one’s body, maintaining personal hygiene, and embracing self-love regardless of circumstances. Chairperson Deidre Petersen said poverty does not determine one’s destiny. The event was held in partnership with Mitchell's Plain SAPS and their team served 150 young people.
