Writes in response to “’Plain parks and ‘wreckreation’”, Plainsman May 7.
The City of Cape Town’s parks and recreation officials cleared our park on Tuesday May 6 just hours before the Plainsman went to print.
I would like to thank the news reporter Fouzia Van Der Fort, for her part in writing and publishing the article of the parks.
I also would like to thank councillor Goawa Timm, for the references she had logged and forwarded to superintendent Wayne Steyn of parks and recreation.
Thank you to you and your team of workers for doing a great job by cleaning the park.
Thanks again I hope we as community can keep it that way.
Between then and this week the people have returned with their makeshift shelters.
