The young people of Westridge enjoyed a Youth Day event hosted by the Westridge sub-forum and Merino Block Watch members. They raised awareness about crime by marching through the streets, and there were dancing games. The youngsters also listened to motivational talks by chairperson of Westridge sub-forum, Bonita Wood, Mitchell’s Plain SAPS, secretary of the Mitchell’s Plain Police Community Police Forum, Lynn Phillips and chairperson of the Mitchell’s Plain CPF, Abie Isaacs and Ward 78 councillor, Eddie Andrews.
