Fraudsters are prying on senior citizens by scamming them from their hard earned savings from their banking accounts and it’s on the increase.
Recently a pensioner from Mitchells’ Plain who wishes not to be named was scammed of R10 000.The money was transferred from one bank to another and is under investigation by the banks fraud department and SAPS. The pensioner hopes he will get his money back.
When receiving calls from an unknown number on your cell phone you can ignore the call.
Should you answer and feel uncomfortable about the call please do not respond to any questions and terminate the call.
These fraudsters are professional in what they do and sound very convincing.
Please do not share your pin number with anyone. No bank will ask you for your pin number. Continue to stay alert digitally and physically.
