Three arrested for illegal weapons

A 24-year-old man was arrested after the Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit found a Taurus 9mm firearm with one magazine and 14 live rounds of ammunition when they stopped and searched a vehicle at Mnandi Beach, Tafelsig, on Saturday October 3, at 12.10am.

• A 34-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were arrested for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition on Sunday October 4 in Botrivier Street, Tafelsig, at 2.30pm.

Mitchell’s Plain SAPS reservists found one firearm and two live rounds of ammunition during a search of the premises after they received a tip-off while they were on crime prevention duties.
