Lions Club warms hearts of seniors

Pictured are the guest speakers and the seniors who attended the Lions Club breakfast on Wednesday February 14 at Hanover Park community hall. Each senior was given a gift and everyone enjoyed the live entertainment.

Wednesday February 14 the Lions Club of Mitchell’s Plain, in collaboration with the Aida Seniors’ Club, brought smiles to the faces of 60 seniors at Hanover Park community hall.

The 60 guests were treated to breakfast, a gift, live musical entertainment and words of inspiration from Ward 47 councillor Antonio van der Rheede and Lion Johanna Williams from Morgenster, Beacon Valley.

Ms Williams grew up in Hanover Park and was more than delighted to be a part of giving back to her childhood community, said Lion Jean Jacobs, the spokesperson for the Lions Club of Mitchell’s Plain.

On behalf of the club Ms Jacobs thanked everyone who donated towards the resounding success of this event “and made this day of love a memorable one”.
