Arrests were made for a murder in Eastridge, an attempted murder in Tafelsig and possession of a firearm and ammunition in Tafelsig.
A case of attempted murder was opened after girl, 13, and man, 20, were shot at in their home.
On Friday July 9 at about 10am, Mitchell’s Plain SAPS attended to a shooting complaint in Vancouver Street, Tafelsig.
Upon arrival at the scene, police found two victims who had been shot.
The first victim, the 20-year-old man, had sustained gunshot wounds to his back, a second victim, the 13-year-old girl, was wounded in her left leg.
Two other persons, a man, 21, and a woman, age not known, were not injured.
Allegedly the victims were at their place of residence when a suspect entered the house and started shooting at them.
Police say the motive was gang related as there is gang tension in the area. They recovered eight 9mm cartridges and three projectiles on the scene.
A follow-up investigation has led to the arrest of two suspects aged 23 and 19 respectively.
The suspects, who are gang members, face four charges of attempted murder and are expected to appear in court soon.

In another case, a woman was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition.
On Friday July 9 at 10.15am, members of Mitchell’s Plain SAPS Proactive Team attended a shooting incident in Vancouver Street, Tafelsig.
Police found one of the room doors of the house locked. When police searched the room, they found a home-made firearm and one round of ammunition in the room and arrested the key holder of the room, a woman, 29.
The woman faces a charge of possession of prohibited firearm and ammunition. She is expected to appear in court soon.
In another case, a man was arrested for murder after stabbing a man in the chest at the Mitchell’s Plain Community Health Care Centre, better known as the day hospital.
On Friday July 9 at 8.45pm, Mitchell’s Plain SAPS attended to a murder complaint at the day hospital.
The deceased had allegedly been part of a group that was involved in a fight with some Somalian men at a house shop in Bontebok Street, Eastridge.
The Somalian men retaliated and ended up chasing the three men. The deceased man, 33, was caught and stabbed. He had sustained stab wounds to his chest and leg.
A follow-up investigation by the police led to the arrest of a 40-year-old Somalian suspect, who faces a charge of murder and is expected to appear in court soon.

In another case, a case of attempted murder is under investigation at Lentegeur SAPS, following the shooting of a 59-year-old man at a construction site in Tania Crescent, Montrose Park, on Wednesday July 7 at 1.10pm.
The man sustained a gunshot wound to the upper chest, and was taken to hospital.
No arrests have been made yet and the motive for the shooting is currently unknown.
