Artist, poet and author Anne Graaff has created her own take on tarot cards, The Tarot of Paris, which she launched at Exclusive Books Cavendish on Wednesday February 22.
Formerly of Kenilworth, Ms Graaff has lived in Paris for many years, spending much of this time working on the 76 tarot cards and two to three years writing a book on how to use them.
Inspiration came from the Salvador Dali pack she saw in the Centre Pompidou in Paris’s Beaubourg district.
Ms Graaff, who was in conversation with author of Under African Sun, Gail Kilbride, and tarot reader Wilhelm Liebenberg, says the designs draw on collages of things she collected while in Paris as well as local influences, such as the depiction of a woman carrying her baby on her back.
