An informal structure was set alight at the Lentegeur Metrorail Station.
Jermaine Carelse, spokesperson for the City's Fire and Rescue Service, said they received a call at 9.35pm on Friday, November 21, about an informal structure alight at the station.
The Mitchell's Plain fire crew was first on scene and found a railway cubicle with waste that had been set alight.
Firefighters extinguished the fire shortly after 10am. No injuries were reported, and the cause is suspected to be arson, he said.
On Sunday June 8 at 9.10am, three men entered the store, tied up the staff and demanded money. They forced staff to open the safe and fled with R9 000 in cash. The suspects escaped in a white Toyota Avanza with no registration plates.

In another case, Lentegeur police are searching for three men who robbed the Burger King at Westgate Mall in June.
According to police, the incident happened on Sunday, June 8, at 9.10am. Three men entered the store, tied up the staff, and demanded money. They forced the staff to open the safe and fled with
R9 000 in cash. The suspects escaped in a white Toyota Avanza with no registration plates.

In another case, Mitchell's Plain police station commander Brigadier Brian Muller confirmed that the body of an unknown man was found in Tafelsig on Monday, November 17.
The man's face was badly mutilated. The body was discovered by a passerby at 7am. The Mitchell's Plain Serious and Violent Crime (SVC) is investigating the matter.
