Awqaf SA, in partnership with the Western Cape Education Department and Portland High School, will host a Grade 12 maths workshop to help pupils prepare for their final exams.

The organisation aimed to prioritise transport challenges that have previously limited attendance at workshops held in the southern suburbs. As a community organisation, AWQAF SA runs projects focused on social cohesion, health, and education aimed at uplifting marginalised communities ("Free maths workshops to support pupils in Mitchell’s Plain and the Cape Flats", Plainsman August 11).

The two-day workshop will focus on paper 1 (Algebra) and paper 2 (Geometry), providing practical guidance and revision support.

Sessions will be facilitated where they will work through past exam papers and share valuable study tips. Pupils will also have the opportunity to participate in a live question-and-answer session.

The algebra workshop will take place on Saturday, October 25, at 8.30am, followed by the geometry session on Sunday, October 26, at 8.30am.

Both sessions will be held at Portland High School, located on the corner of Morgenster Road and Merrydale Avenue in Portland, Mitchells Plain.

Those unable to attend in person can join the sessions online via YouTube or Facebook. Free online registration is essential and can be completed at https://bit.ly/grade12octon for in-person attendance or https://bit.ly/grade12octin for the online workshop.
