Mitchell’s Plain police arrested a man, 51, for a fatal stabbing following a dispute over a flash drive in Manenberg.
It is alleged that the suspect became enraged when a friend did not return a lost flash drive promptly, leading to the fatal stabbing. The suspect fled the area but was located in Mitchell’s Plain on Tuesday, September 23.
Working with Manenberg police, officers confirmed his location and arrested him within minutes of receiving the tip-off, said Captain Bennett.

On Monday September 22, Metro Police on high-density patrols spotted him on a bicycle in a hotspot area. He tried to evade arrest but was cornered after running into a house on Gouritz Street. Police recovered the loaded firearm in his possession, said Captain Bennett.
The boy was released into the mother's care, said Captain Bennett.
