Westridge library hosted a women’s empowerment programme during May, with a special focus on women’s information skills empowerment (Wise).

The programme was presented in collaboration with the 3R Foundation, which works with single-parent and blended-family households.

On Friday, May 16, women from the surrounding community took part in a Women's Ignite session, which enabled them to delve into their value and uniqueness.

“Many participants expressed how the programme helped shift their perspectives. They now feel more confident, not only in their own worth but also in group settings – whether it’s public speaking, taking part in discussions, or delivering presentations,” said Mu-izz Hendricks, senior librarian at Westridge Library.

The Wise programme continued with a motivational talk by Rocklands entrepreneur Laura Spannenberg on Monday, May 19, and a personal development session on Monday, May 26. Two more sessions will be held on Monday June 2 and Monday June 9.
