A young woman from Tafelsig, Kenecha Meissenheimer, is proving that resilience and hard work can turn dreams into reality. On Tuesday April 15, the 22-year-old graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Economics and Management, from the University of the Western Cape (UWC).
For Kenecha, the journey was far from easy, but every challenge strengthened her commitment to succeed.
“This degree is not just a qualification,” she said, “it’s a symbol of resilience, faith, and perseverance.”
She describes her graduation as one of the most fulfilling moments of her life, representing the long nights, sacrifices, and prayers that carried her through.
Looking ahead, Kenecha is determined to continue growing. She plans to pursue her Honours degree in Economics while stepping into the corporate world. Balancing work and study will be demanding, but she believes it will shape her into a strong and capable leader.
Her message to young people is powerful: “Your area does not determine you. You can achieve anything you put your mind to.” Kenecha urges youth to stay focused, be consistent, and trust the process. She reminds them that success is built through hard work, belief in themselves, and keeping God at the center of their journey.
“You are capable, worthy, and powerful beyond measure,” she said— a lesson she has lived and now hopes to inspire others to believe for themselves.
