Darts officials met at Westville Primary School hall recently to discuss the 2025 season.

Among those present were Darts South Africa (DSA) president, Graham Stark and various stakeholders, including councillor Ashley Potts, George Klonaridis (darts accessories sponsor), Charles Gelderblom of the Western Cape Darts Federation, Priscilla Peters, Darts SA youth manager to South Korea, and educators from various schools in the area.

The aim of the gathering was to discuss the Department of Education and minister of sport, arts and culture Gayton McKenzie’s commitment to school darts, said Alister Porthen, founder of the 180-plus schools darts programme, as adopted by DSA.

“This is a local initiative that does not intend to fast track our potential stars, it's a development programme that has produced provincial and national players,” said Porthen. “We encourage learners to try and gain provincial and national colours,” he said.
