Cedar High pupil stabbed in altercation

Mitchell's Plain police are investigating a case of physical assault with a weapon after a Grade 10 Cedar High pupil was stabbed outside his school last Tuesday, April 22. 

According to Mitchell's Plain police station commander Brigadier Brian Muller, the 17-year-old boy was stabbed during an altercation with three alleged ex-pupils on the corner of Weltevreden and Spine roads, around 2.35pm.

"During the altercation, one suspect allegedly produced a sharp object described as a long knife and stabbed the victim in the lower and upper left back, lower forearm and head and then took off.

"The victim made his way back into the school and safety officer Danii Kempshall and first aider Nazley Isaacs were called. First Aid was administered by Ms Isaacs and Ms Kempshall. Emergency medical services were contacted and the injured student was transported to Mitchell's Plain Medical Centre for further treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery," Brigadier Muller said.

No suspects have been arrested.
