Pupils from Beacon View Primary School spin the wheel for their share of branded T-shirts, caps, bucket hats, lanyards, lunchboxes and water bottles when the Collect-A-Pack (CAP) programme was launched at their school and others on Global Recycling Day, March 18. The programme will see more than 900 000 pupils across 500 primary schools in South Africa learn the importance of recycling, its practical applications, and the impact it has on the environment, their lives, and their communities. Pupils and teachers are encouraged to collect plastic bread packaging for recycling. Top-performing schools each term will receive R100 000, which will be used to fund upgrades to their school facilities.
