Cape Word Weavers and Amateur Skrywers Bond groups have invited the public to their book launch that will take place on Saturday November 9.
The organisations both train their members on how to write poems, short stories and publishing them.
This book is made up of a collection of over 100 stories and poems covering more than 200 pages by 52 writers who are associated with the Cape Word Weavers Movement and Amateur Skrywers Bond in Western Cape, according to Joseph Jacobs, the organiser of the event.
It aims to weave a link between the personal life stories of the writers and the real everyday life events to educate and inspire the readers.
The book is called “Hande Vat” in Afrikaans or “Taking Hands” in English.
The youngest member who contributed her own unique poetic writings is 14 years of age and the oldest is in his 80’s.
The event is happening on Saturday, November 9 at DNA Café and Eatery in Kuils River, from 2pm until 4pm, with books available for R100 each.You will also have an opportunity to get an authentic signature of the writers.
