Cancer awareness drive

Members of Unchain the Plain and the Westridge Cancer Survivors Support Group joined the McDonald’s SA’s Women’s Leadership Network’s (WLN) annual female cancer awareness campaign at the Promenade Mall on Saturday October 19.

McDonald’s SA’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) held its annual female cancer awareness campaign by hosting a Women in Motion Drive Thru Day at the Promenade Mall on Saturday October 19.

The campaign highlighted, among others, various cancers that affect women, early detection and the importance of self-examination. It was supported by various organisations, including the Cansa Relay for Life Mitchell’s Plain, Unchain the Plain and the Westridge Cancer Survivors Support Group.

Cansa Relay For Life Mitchell’s Plain invited a group of child cancer survivors to the event. The McDonald's Team Rainbow treated them to an outing to Girraffe House afterwards. Cansa Relay For Life Mitchell’s Plain’s Pam Vraagom showed her support for fellow cancer survivors on Saturday October 19.
