LentegeurpPolice have arrested 11 people on several drug-related charges.
Eleven people, between 18 to 35 years appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court on drug-related charges on Monday August 12, following their arrests during a joint operation by Lentegeur Police’s crime prevention and crime intelligence units, Metro Police, Law Enforcement, and SAPS K9 on Wednesday August 7.
The joint operation targeted three locations in crime hotspots; Montrose Park, Woodlands and Lentegeur, during which police confiscated various drugs with a street value of about R8 000.
According to Constable Navon van Houten, the operation was led by Lentegeur Police’s crime prevention unit to bring stability and address the threat of gang violence and drugs in response to recent shootings in the area.
“Search warrants were executed and various drugs were found at the different locations,” he said.
