Having a team participating in the Super League of the Cape Town Softball Association (CTSA) means the Westridge Yankees B team cannot gain promotion to the same division.

With that being said, their B side is still as dominant as ever in the Major League and have remained on top of the standings since day one.

The only side posing any sort of a threat to them in the division are the Khayelitsha Eagles who have been on their tails all season long.

Considering last weekend's results, a 6-3 win against the Falcons B side, Yankees are favourites to end the season in first place.

They have the second least runs conceded in the division while they lead on runs scored.

Their next game will be against Khayelitsha Eagles this coming weekend.

The game that may decide who finishes top of the standings.

However, the Yankees have an advantage against the Eagles as they won in their previous match.

That game, however, was a forfeit by the Eagles as they could not honour the fixture.

The rest of the Major league fixtures will see Kuils River Cougars taking on Falcons B team. Falcons will be hoping to come back from the defeat at Westridge at the weekend against the side that beat Glenthorn A’s 11-2.

Heideveld Yankees will be hoping they finally get their first win of the season when they take on Glenthorn A’s.

With both sides coming off losses in their last matches, a win would be significant in their log standings.

The Westridge Super League side are also holding their own against the division heavyweights in the likes of Glenthorn A’s and Lavender Hill.

After a 2-2 draw against Glenthorn A’s at the weekend, Yankees have possibly their toughest game in the Super League when they take on undefeated log leaders in Lavender Hill. Lavender Hill had a bye at the weekend and will come out guns blazing against the Yankees this coming weekend.

But that is not to say Yankees will roll over and let a chance to shock the heavyweights of the division go past.

In another Super League game, Tantasport will take on Glenthorn A’s. Tantasport are coming off a loss at the weekend, 9-2 against Falcons.

Westridge have three teams in total in the CTSA with their C team taking part in the First Division.
