Khoisan Plasterz set to release album

Staff Reporter|Published

Michael “Koosie” James and Ricardo “Japie” Julie form the The Khoisan Plasterz.

The Khoisan Plasterz from Tafelsig are set to release their very own album.

The group consists of Michael “Koosie” James and Ricardo “Japie” Julie who say they’ve been rocking the stages in and around Cape Town and the Karoo.

They’re currently working on their single called Gun-Sakke. “Gun-Sakke is a word people used to mock women with big hips. It also made some women feel uncomfortable with their body,” said Michael.

The Khoisan Plasterz wrote this song mainly to empower women to embrace and appreciate their bodies and feel good about themselves, said Japie.

The song will be released on all social media platforms, he said.

Khoisan Plasterz produces their own music which focuses on telling feel good music and stories, said Koosie.

In the 90s the two were remembered by dancing with a group called Juvenetics School of Dance. They have been working with local entertainers, dancers and performing artists in Cape Town.
