Merrydale pupils enjoy surprise from Easter Bunny

Pupils of Merrydale Primary School were surprised by a delivery of Easter eggs from the Easter bunny on Wednesday April 13.

The pupils were happy to receive Easter eggs.

Principal Trevor Dilgee said the pupils were excited to be receiving some Easter spirit from the Pick n Pay team.

“We celebrate various religious holidays at our school. Due to Covid-19 Pick n Pay couldn't visit our school but we are so happy that we could share in the Easter spirit again after such a long time,” said Mr Dilgee.

Merrydale pupils had fun with the Easter bunny who danced with them.

Pick n Pay has a long-standing relationship with the school as they are registered as part of Pick n Pay School Club – a network of 3 180 schools nationwide that receive free workbooks, posters and materials every year.

As part of the visit, the pupils taught the Pick n Pay asap! bunny driver how to do the #HintHatchHop dance they’d been taught by the Pick n Pay School Club representative.

Merrydale pupil, Joshua Maduna, won a special Easter hamper consisting of a limited-edition PnP Easter reusable bag – made from recycled plastic bottles – which was filled with more chocolate Easter treats and a R100 voucher.
