Maserati GT2 Stradale makes its road debut, blending racing DNA with everyday luxury
Southern Spain recently played host to an exclusive driving experience that showcased the Maserati GT2 Stradale, the latest offering from the House of the Trident. This super sports car, which made its world debut at California’s Monterey Car Week in August 2024, is set to hit the European market in April 2025.
But before its official launch, Maserati invited key stakeholders and customers to Andalusia to experience the GT2 Stradale’s dual personality: a track-ready machine with the comfort and refinement expected from a Maserati.
The event began in the picturesque city of Marbella, where participants embarked on a scenic drive through the winding roads of the Parque Nacional Sierra de las Nieves.
The route culminated at the private Ascari Circuit near Ronda, a 5,425-meter track named after the legendary Italian Formula 1 driver Alberto Ascari, who once raced for Maserati. The location was a fitting tribute to the brand’s rich motorsport heritage, which dates back decades and continues to inspire its modern-day creations.
The GT2 Stradale is the road-legal counterpart of the GT2 race car that marked Maserati’s return to competitive racing in the Fanatec GT2 European Series.
It’s a car that embodies the brand’s racing DNA while offering the luxury and comfort that have long been hallmarks of the Maserati name.
Under the hood lies a modified version of the MC20’s V6 Nettuno engine, now producing 640 CV (471 kW)—10 CV more than the MC20—and capable of propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds.
With a top speed of 324 km/h, the GT2 Stradale is not only a powerhouse but also the most agile rear-wheel-drive car in its category.
What sets the GT2 Stradale apart is its ability to seamlessly transition between the track and the road. It’s a car designed for enthusiasts who crave the adrenaline of racing but also want the option to drive in comfort on public roads.
This duality was on full display during the Andalusia event, where participants tested the car’s limits on both the Ascari Circuit and the open road.
Adding to the experience, the GT2 Stradale was presented in a variety of custom liveries as part of Maserati’s Fuoriserie personalisation programme. At the Ascari Circuit, one pit lane was dedicated to showcasing these bespoke designs, while another highlighted Maserati’s racing legacy with a display of the GT2’s forerunner.
The GT2 Stradale is more than just a car; it’s a statement of Maserati’s commitment to blending performance, luxury, and motorsport heritage. As the brand continues its journey back to the podium, the GT2 Stradale stands as a testament to what happens when racing passion meets road-going refinement.

Production began last December at the historic plant on Viale Ciro Menotti in Modena. Maserati GT2 Stradale is available in only 914 units, as mentioned on the specific badge positioned on the central tunnel. The lettering “1 of 914” is an explicit reference to 1914, the year Maserati was founded.
